About Expedition

On Tuesday, 22 April 2014 I am planning to embark to the islands of western Mediterranean and eastern Atlantic from Příbram in Czech Republic. The route is planned to take me via some of the most interesting European islands: Elba, Corsica, Sardinia, Menorca, Mallorca, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Grand Canaria, Palma, Tenerife, Madeira, Porto Santo, Il d´Yeux. During the journey I should also land at Gibraltar, Spanish Melilla in the northern Africa and Tangier in Morocco. The return journey will also lead me over Mont St. Michel in France and the disembarkation beaches in Normandy. Of course, a lot of other attractive places will also be included.

The objective of the whole expedition is to fly over and take videos/photographs of the islands, archipelagos in the seas surrounding Europe – the Mediterranean, the Atlantic ocean, the North Sea and the Baltic sea. The first journey will therefore soon be followed by the second one which will include Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man, Orkney islands, Shetland islands, the Hebrides and Faroe islands.

The No 1. Czech news portal iDnes (www.idnes.cz ) is the media partner of the project. The portal will publish on line the actual position of the aircraft which will be provided by regular 10 minute position reports transmitted over satellite phone. Altogether 5 cameras – two under the wings, one under the tail, one fixed in the cockpit and one hand-held will be available to record the journey. The actual position of the aircraft can be seen below. Also, photographs, videos and brief information will be published by iDnes every day from each part of the journey. To provide as much information as possible to my international supporters I will do my best to supply information to this English language version of my web as often as possible.

Thank you for your interest
