Brief biography

o   Graduated at Prague high school of electronics and then the Prague University of Economics. Completed his studies at the Law faculty of Charles University of Prague. Recently finished his studies of Clinical dietology at the British Stonebridge College.

o   Devoted most of his professional life to air transport and travel business – initially in various positions at Czech Airlines and subsequently as Director at the International Air Transport Association in Geneva. After his return to Czech Republic he took the position of VP Marketing at Czech airlines for the period 1995-1999. After that he went into private business. Today he runs three businesses focused on healthy life style and homecare. At the same time he does a lot of international flying, photographing and filming.

o   He considers the following to be his most interesting professional achievements:

  • Setting up an international clearing centre for payments of overfly charges by airlines using the airspace of the former USSR. The clearing centre run now by IATA collected around 250 million USD already in its second year of operation.
  • Creation of a language school focused on providing professional language training for the Air Traffic Controllers of the ex-USSR countries. This allowed professional and safe provision of the ATC services to western airlines which were not previously allowed to fly most of the new routes. The school provided language training to about 1000 students over the four years of its existence. It was then moved to Ukraine.
  • At his VP position at CSA he focused mainly on transformation of the product and marketing to make them competitive in the open market. He considers the main achievements of these times to be the alliance agreement with Continental airlines as well as a network of bilateral code share agreements with airlines like Alitalia, Lufthansa, Austrian, Swissair etc.
  • Opening the local office of Global Distribution System Galileo in Prague and then subsequently in 5 other countries of Central and Eastern Europe. This move brought competition and improved  travel support services in these countries.
  • In addition to the Galileo business he co-owned and operated a luxury hotel Glenspeanlodge in Scotland between 2001 and 2005.
  • Writing and publishing three books – "The World of Air Transport", "Flying smartly", "The ABC of communism".
  • In Spring 2013 he completed work on a „personal book“ which is actually a personalised analysis /textbook and healthy life style programme. It s currently offered on www.menimse.cz in Czech and Russian languages.
  • In the Autumn 2013 he found Biomagnetic Cyprus Ltd. (www.biomagnetic.eu) – a company focusing on promotion and distribution of pulse magnetotherapy devices in Cyprus where he partly lives.

 

o   His main flying achievements include several trips in a Cessna C172 and Cirrus SR20 covering:

  • Most of the USA
  • South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia with flights over Kalahari and Namib deserts as well as Victoria Falls
  • Most of European countries including arctic circle crossing in Norway or two flights to Cyprus
