Volcanoes

Volcanoes are fascinating. In Europe, active volcanoes can be found only in Iceland and the South of Italy. I have not yet made it to Iceland but I have flown over Vesuvius, Etna and the active volcanoes of the Lipary islands including Stromboli.

To circle around Vesuvius is a bit of a problem given the proximity of Naples airport. However, it is easier to fly over the very active Etna....  For those would like to see more photos and some videos of Etna and the Lipary islands - I will add these as soon as possible to the section covering the "European Islands from the Skies" section.
