I consider general aviation flying in the US the most
pleasant and the least costly in the world. An abundance of
airports, professional services, availability of fuel, no
unnecessary regulation, no hassle at the GA airports, cheap
fuel and no airport or ATC fees. This in addition to being a vast
country which offers just about every type of scenery one can wish
for.
I have never flown between Europe and the US as it is
so easy to rent an in the US.... So
I have done this four times so far and every time I have had a
great trip. I flew over the southern states of Texas, New Mexico,
Louisiana; the West - California, Utah; the North-east
(New York, North Carolina, Virgina) the central states (Tennessee,
Alabama, Georgie) and Florida up to Key West.
During the US flights my photo and filming
capabilities were not as developed as today so the quality of the
photos is somewhat lower.
